Hi Alex thanks for sharing the hand. Question when you are talking about the hands he might have on the flop, you donโt really mention having too many aces that are in his check raise range. I was thinking about what cards o didnโt want to see on the turn and honestly an ace of diamonds I was quite ok with. My question is why is that such a bad turn and if that is a bad turn then donโt we only have very few good turn cards. ie. anything over a jack is bad. Spades bad, straight draws coming in bad. Leaves us with very clean turn cards ?
Okay guys the results are in! The Hero called and the villain had 76ss and we lost :/
Thanks ๐๐ผ to everyone who commented and for all your feedback. Yaโll are awesome!
Nice job, thanks man!!
With flop of 2 spades showing I would most likely let it go on the 3-bet from the villain. Consider like this: V is demonstrating better draws than a made top pair. How will you improve and overcome his draws? Are you chasing a J? a backdoor straight into a back door flush draw? It's a waste of money to defend top pair on a coordinated board running in the wrong direction.
Great analysis of a difficult hand.
Yeah, my first thought on that turn was, if you can put villain on JJ-AA or like A9+, that's obviously a snap fold. Beyond that, it's a check-shove as I have to believe he lays anything else down. Having said that, beyond the flop the hand just screams "pick a better spot." Great analysis, thanks.
Hi Alec, great content as always. I have a question which maybe could be discussed in a future video by you if you don't mind.
Do you think that a hybrid GTO + exploitative play can be done in poker tables as for example a certain hand that Piosolver says that we have to bet the pot 45% of the time, bet half pot 30% of the time and check 25% of the time. What if we bet the pot for value against bad calling stations, half pot against cautious players and check against maniacs who use to bet? This would be as profitable as an exploitative play and as balanced as GTO, right? Thank you!
Thank You Thank You !!!
Second Time I watched this to make sure of my thoughts. I've concluded the hero was too passive. When he hit top on the flop he was not aggressive and gave control to the villain! He chased with what once were called "crying calls". I suspect instead of losing 10K he might have won 3 or 4 because the price he might have given the villain was wrong with a big bet on top pair. So in the end aggression can change a losing hand to a winning hand, at least in theory.
the equity calculator is fxxxxx up. run that hand against that range with that board on any other calculator and the JTo runs around 25%. So, the whole analysis is off. and just intuitively, a strong player check raises two players, OOP against the first better, and JTo has to be crushed, either immediately or equity wise.
