Pokerstars Observation Deck

A series that looks at the top 5 pots of the 200nl zoom pool on a given day. I use this as a form of study as this improves my hand/range reading ability.

If you want to do this yourself, go to the zoom lobby. Find the stake you want to look at. Click the observe button and then go into the hand history.

  1. Hand 1 is def a bluff. I can tell you his thought process; he's just playing position. UTG x/r doesnt make a lot of sense other than to force off random overcards with a weak made hand like 98. CO realizes this so he goes for the float expecting to win it with a turn bet when it gets checked to him. The ace is not a very good card for this honestly so when UTG flats he's (UTG) basically screaming "i have showdown value" hence the river jam by CO. The fact UTG called is ridiculous unless he has exactly A9/AK/AJ hand. Both players played this hand kind of spastically.

  2. Also there are THREE combos of straight flushes. 46 69 and 9T of spades are all straight flushes. But 46 might not do this, because someone could have 9T? But if I have a straight flush I would check jam personally lol

  3. Great analysis in these observation deck episodes Skuz. @ 33:00 I was interested in the overpair strategy in the ping766 vs Ohjo hand and was wondering if I'm on the right track. KK no heart called off the river vs Ohjo's 44 full house. It seems that kings can never call the river because KhKx should be a fold on the turn arguably? Or are QQ+ too strong to fold turn even with a heart blocking flush draw bluffs?

AsAc seems like ping's nut bluffcatcher as it completely blocks A3s. If you have a mixed AA hand like AsAh/AcAh, those probably need to call turn as well. So on heart rivers those 3 combos at minimum need to call it off.

If we continue turn with 6 AA and 6 KK, by MDF vs pot-sized bet we need to defend 50%, it seems like we should always fold KK, and always call off with AA. This spot seems underbluffed so the worst AA combo AsAh could be folded too. BUT that might be overfolding turn if we always fold JJ/QQ.

On turn, should JJ/QQ no heart call? 66-TT seem like clear folds since they're too vulnerable to flush draw + 2 overs hitting on the river. But if those 6 additional combos call, it seems like we need to call this river with nearly all AA/KK.

  4. Hi man, really happy to hear bulgarian music for your background music in your intro. Just found your youtube and i can say its a big value for most of the poker players. Really enjoying the content and hope to see more from you. Keep it up buddy, great job!
