Poker Strategy Info And Source:
This poker video from popular poker vlogger Lex O poker highlights the importance of double checking your cards and the board. Always be aware of your exact holding!
Jonathan talks about which poker hands you should look to use as check-raise bluffs. On the flop, Lex O has an open ended straight draw with two over cards which makes for a perfect candidate as a semi-bluff. It has no showdown value and the low flop gives him a range advantage over his opponent who had decided to raise preflop.
He also discusses that you should not lead very often when you are playing deep stacked and against competent poker players as they should float you extremely wide which makes navigating the rest of the poker hand more difficult.
Lex Ozias AKA Lex O Poker is a professional poker player based out of Southern Florida. Lex has a YouTube Channel, Lex O Poker, where he shares his insights and poker strategies whilst playing predominantly mid-stakes cash games.
The blinds are $5/$10/$20 in this poker cash game hand from the Hard Rock Casino in Florida.
The action starts with the Villain raising to $60 from the button. Lex O decides to defend his straddle and calls with 76o.
The flop comes 542ccx to which both players check. The turn is Qd and Lex O decides to check again with his open ended straight draw. The Villain decides to bet using a large sizing of $100. Lex O decides to turn his hand into a semi bluff and makes a raise to $325. The Villain makes an easy call with his straight and the pot is now $785 heading into the river.
The river is a scary 7c which brings in the front-door flush draw and Lex O decides to turn his hand into a bluff as he bets $575. The Villain is at the top of his range and decides to call and ships a pot worth $1,935.

Have you ever made a mistake like this before? How much did it end up costing you? 😜
I don’t think I’ve ever made the mistake of thinking my 4 card straight was a straight. But I do often, after making a straight, fail to see that a flush got there.
CRAZY HOW MORENO OUTFLOP YOUR SEVENS AND HE GOT OUTFLOP WITH SEVENS TOO 😂😂
I've made that mistake before, and I've seen more than a few pros make that mistake on air. It's a humbling moment for sure. But unless you have eidetic memory, it's bound to happen to you to unless you are in the habit of rechecking your cards before betting – which unless you do it EVERY single hand, will be a tell.
And god help the Omaha players. I have the hardest damn time remembering 4 cards through every street.
LexO does talk fast. JL turned the speed down lol
I was in a hand with pocket tens and the flop was 9-9-9. Turn was a 10, River was another 9. I went all-in and got called. Showed the tens and my opponent showed A-Q. The dealer started pushing the chips to him and I was like, “Hey, I won. I’ve got tens full!” Then it dawned on me that quad nines with an Ace was the best hand…lol.
Or he could have KQ. Or JQ. Or Q10.
Or he could be slow playing a set
Or maybe A5 or 9-9
There’s too many “ifs”
Bad play. Especially because he’s ABC.
When ABC calls, slow down
He would have lost more if he knew he didn’t have a straight. Got lucky.
I thunk he did lie, he knew he didn't have a straight but figured his pair wss good.
Was it a bad Bluff on the river though? I mean, we wanna apply pressure on Qx and have very little showdown value against the range. Villain calls with a straight, so kind of top of his range (next to Flushes, which some of them would have bet the flop)
