Final tables of poker tournaments are a place to identify the fear points of each opponent.
Different players have different tolerances for pain and loss, different motivations that can potentially be exploited through their play, and different experience levels with final table or high stakes poker situations.
Remember, if you can identify an opponent as scared money you can now push around and bully that player while knowing that when they do put the chips in they likely have a decent to good poker hand.
Along with that, different stack sizes ‘fear’ confrontation structurally in the game.
If there are two big stacks and 4 extra small stacks at the table those two big stacks should ‘fear’ getting into confrontation with each other as they have a lot to lose by not focusing on battling the small stacks.
If you’re building huge chip stacks already but still looking for how to improve at pot limit omaha, no limit hold ‘em, or poker in general, Phil Galfond is here to teach you how to think like a professional poker player.

Every final table is made of 2 types, extreme aggro or tight as actual bad. The tight guys are easy af just bluff them all day until they fight back, then let them have it and go right back to bluffing their ass until you catch them. The aggros however, very different story. These guys don’t give 2 flying ducks. Will jam you at any moments notice. Gonna have to catch them with better kicker moments for sure pretty hard to make plays on a guy who’s raising anything you do.
