Again another GREAT vid for anyone new to the game to watch so they realize just how UGLY things can & do get sometimes. Nice job in grinding your way out of the hole again. In The first part of the vid things were terribly bad for a LONG time. You got down 1300 and that was with the very conservative UP 1 unit after a loss. If you had started out with the U4D5 right from the start then you probably would have been down $5000 before things turned around. That is why I prefer the procedure of starting out very conservative and hope to win that way. After things go badly for an extended amount of time then switch to a more aggressive MM method in hopes that things will eventually turn around for you.
I was at the casino on Wed & had a very similar experience. I got down and then raised my avg bet sizes a little. Got down further & again my avg bet size went up a little. I never change my Bet Selection (P or B) method at all. Got down even further & again raised my avg bet sizes. By then things were pretty hairy & I had lost almost half of what I brought with me. Things FINALLY turned around for me and I was able to slowly dig my way out of the hole. As I draw closer to break even I then drop my avg bet sizes down out of the stratosphere. After a long traumatic day like that I typically stop as soon as I am close to even and I lose a couple bets in a row. Luckily I went on a nice win streak just as I was about even and I never lost 2 in a row all the way up to +165. At that point the shoe ended & I decided to call it a day. The next day after I slept it off I felt quite hung over even though I never touched a drop of alcohol. The effects of all of the adrenaline, dopamine & whatever other hormones are produced when we gamble are quite noticeable after a long stressful session like that.
Previously I had a 10 game winning streak going followed by one small loss. I have been expecting a very bad day to show up sooner or later & I thought this was going to be the BIG loss that I have been anticipating. I was REALLY glad to dodge the bullet and actually pull out a small win. Another fringe benefit for me was that I earned way more comp points than normal since my avg bet size was up high for a long time.
That was fun…Not!
I've been a casualty too many times when that happens, nice grind out. But dang, that was a lot of work going down $1000 or more for $100. Did you happen to notice that the Wizard showed it will go on a chop run also? Around 29:45, it was on 13 chops in a row.
