Card counting is not the only way to beat the house advantage in blackjack. This strategy will get you to even odds with the house. With a good comp program you might even come out slightly ahead in the long run.

In addition to comps you can make money by letting other players bet your side bet. They are a bad bet but many people will share their winnings with you and you have no risk.

  1. Hi DarkStar are you going to be doing anymore of the 3 hands, one being the card counter, and the other two different strategies? I really enjoy those.

  2. Great advice Darkstar. Your technique would be especially good, I think, for creating some cover for an advantage player: letting the eye in the sky seeing you, letting your play history show, an hour here and there as just a guy having fun playing cards.

  3. Hey DarkStar, speaking of comps, would you have any advice on asking for them? I'm guessing there are certain comps that are computer generated (free play, free rooms, food credit and cashback in some casinos), but you can also ask a host for things. I've gotten some extra food credit at the end of losing sessions and room service waived by just asking "could you?". But one time I've been told "we reviewed your play and even though you lost today, you won too much in this casino so we can't give you anything". I actually got worried that I prompted them to took at my win/loss.

How do you go about asking for stuff? Or do you just take what they give?

  4. Not to be a dick a shoe might be 40 hands not 100. 6 decks *52=312. Cut card is 1/4 deep so 220-250 cards max
Even playing heads up average hand will be 7-8 cards (3-4 per player and dealer). Minimum is 4 cards. But whatever I get your point
U of all people should have that info immediately off the top of your head (strengthens your credibility)

  5. I got backed off my first casino last night…Nice and close to home…Really bad. Had overall 18 hours in that Casino and came out slightly under :/

  6. I think playing the side bets is good cover, especially if the minimum of the side bet is $1.

  7. As for using the Basic Strategy card at the table, if you are new its better to play when the casino is not busy. The one I go to is fine with it as long as you don't slow the game too much.

  8. The tip of doubling your bet when the pit boss is watching your first play worked great last night. Comps galore!
