NOTE FOR ALL THE PEOPLE BASHING THIS VIDEO IN THE COMMENTS (READ BEFORE YOU BASH MY ADVICE GIVEN IN THIS VIDEO: Notice the title of my video… It doesn't say "How to count cards in Vegas" and it definitely doesn't say "How to never lose at Blackjack". This video is intended for people extremely new to playing blackjack for FUN. Assuming the dealer has a 10 card will help most people beat the dealer more in most scenarios. Too many people play blackjack and try and compete against other players hands etc which is the wrong way to play. You only play against the dealers hand in Blackjack and assuming the dealer has a 10 will help people from "hitting" when the dealer shows a 5 and the player has 18. That is the goal of this video… to teach brand new people to Blackjack win more often. This video is definitely not intended for card counters or experts at the game to win money in casinos.

  2. Just remember that the casinos encourage the use of basic strategy. The basic strategy cards are sold at the gift shop and players are allowed to look at them during play.

    Is that because the casinos are run by fun loving people that enjoy people winning?

    I play a conservative derivative of basic strategy – such as not doubling soft hands and not doubling a 10 vs dealer 9. That last one has saved me a lot of money.

  3. Here’s where basic strategy reveals its limitations:

    1). You’re supposed to play ‘as-if’ the dealer down card is a 10. We are supposed to hit our 15s and 16s against a dealer 10 card up. But….

    2). We are told by basic strategy to NEVER take insurance. When the dealer up card is an Ace, we are supposed to assume that the dealer down card in NOT a 10.
