This week we’re looking at how to Double or Doubling Down in Blackjack.

Doubling Down is when the player doubles their bet against the dealer, but is only allowed to take one further card before standing. Doubling Down is a great way for players to make extra money on a play they are certain they can win. Doubling down is the Blackjack equivalent of a raise in Poker. By raising the bet, the player takes the disadvantage of only receiving 3 cards in total, but is receives an advantage by allowing themselves the chance to win more.

As with all Blackjack strategies, most of the player’s ability to perform special moves in Blackjack relies on their being money in the pot. The player’s first concern must always be how much money they have. Unlike most other casino games, like Roulette and Poker, where money is simply used to bet. In Blackjack, the player will use money to play strategic moves such as doubling down or splitting the deck. Always watch your money in Blackjack.
