This is just what I needed. I had not got around to learning about lay bets and I've played for quite awhile. You've shown me how exciting all these different bets can be used to hedge and protect your money in strategies. This is a great game. Converting the odds and learning payouts is challenging to me especially during a game when you need to relax and throw the dice. Winning is exciting and you got stay calm.
awesome video Jacob
@2:32… The opposite of a Place bet is Place to Lose (not really covered in this vid, and probably because it's un-American (so-to-speak (i.e., not typically found on an American table))). The opposite of a Buy bet is the Lay bet. So then, the Lay bet is the cousin to the Place to Lose bet, and like the Buy bet (the Place bet's cousin), you pay a commission on the win. And to further reduce confusion, if I'm even actually helping here, the Lay bet pay-outs are like Laying Odds on Don't Come/Don't Pass bets… except, as mentioned, you pay a commission on the win. Just wanted to jump in with that clarification and I hope it was helpful. Great vid!
I would add that the bet you are laying is a don't bet. Some places have lay bets on the point side. Great video.
