Craps Strategy Video Information:
In this video we review a strategy from Sam Grafstein (author of Dice Doctor). It has been labeled the Pensioner’s Play as it can typically be seen being used by the crusty old man on the hook of the table. It can be a slow Grind if the table is hot, but works well on cold or choppy tables.
Here is how it plays.
1. Start with a $25 DP bet
2. If the first roll is a 7/11, stop and wait for the next shooter
3. If a 2, or 3 is rolled the win should be parlayed
4. Any box number establishes the DP wager and triggers a $25 DC bet
5. Your limit is ONE loss per shooter. Separate wins from bankroll
6. Continue DB and DC Bet until you are out of starting bankroll
7. If Profits are over initial starting bankroll but below goal, repeat process. If profits are below bankroll either take the loss or try again with the lower bankroll.

It scale perfectly and allows you to place the 6 and 8 in stage two of the strategy if desired. It allots $30 per shooter for a total of 10 shooters as per the rules of 10. It starts on the Dark Side, transitions to Hybrid, and then ends up on the light side.

It’s a solid play I am that guy in the hook collecting on the don’t 🤣 I enjoy your content 👍
Nice video. I could see several twist at a $5 or $10 table to capitalize on some 6/8 hits. You wouldn't have to leave them on all the time.
Hey Mike. A good conservative play.
I like it but as always the dice have to be nice as you always say!
Your content is confusing to people learning how to play.
Thanks , this is my speed !!!!
Thanks Mike Nice
This is almost the exact same thing as the John Patrick two point don't. The only difference is you lay 2 units odds on the DP while the bet is in the DC. After the DC moves to it's number you take down the lay odds and just let the two flat bets work. It's a great solid strategy, even if not very exciting. I use it all the time.
Mike, thanks for posting. A few points. Start with eighteen quarters, the $25 bettor requires a bankroll of $450 to attack with The Pensioner’s Play. [ You could roll this out again as a $15 bettor—the required 18 units amounting to a session roll of $270. ( More nearly the $300 you perhaps had in mind. )]
Chip rack protocol is not difficult but important. Your front groove will start with fifteen quarters ( $375 ) to which is added the three “active” checks, per shooter, which are “in hand.”
Observe correct “ lockup “ procedure at all times. Checks that surpass the three units in hand are to be removed from risk and scrolled into your left BACK groove, not to be exposed to any further risk.
Be prepared to stack up natural payoff crap roll chips, as often as they show. Do not think of these as a bonus—they are tactical and crucial—don’t second guess rules to The Pensioner’s Play.
If your first DC bet “bucks” ( repeats ), stop there—make no further bets on this shooter.
Dice discipline is a test of character. At times, these tactics may turn you into a spectator. You may even want to rethink the dark side altogether.
good strategy . nice explanation..good math. keep em coming
