As you know craps is a negative EV game due to casinos not paying proper odds, this is commonly known as the house advantage. This is made worse when you do not make proper bets on your odds. When you were betting odds on the don't pass on the 5 & 9 you were betting $10, but the odds pay 2:3 so you bet should be in multiples of 3. You were getting paid $6 for your $10 bet but you would have made $6 on a $9 bet so you were essentially giving the casino an extra $1 increasing their house advantage. Casinos don't need help making money, they do ok on their own.
