Good reason why I just stay away from the pass line unless I'm throwing. An equivalent place bet on the number is gonna pay better anyway until you get above 5X odds.
Idk why people keep saying odds has 0 house edge when in truth the odds has the same edge as the pass line after the come out. Same as a come bet.
It's misleading imo.
Edit: I'm not saying Color Up is being misleading, I'm just saying I personally find the concept misleading.

The logic of “I can’t afford to make a 0% house edge bet so I’ll make a 1-4% house edge bet instead” will never cease to amaze me. If you can afford to play $22 inside you can play $22 in odds.

I actually got into this exact conversation at the table when I was on the Ovation of the Seas recently. I was playing your "Favorite" strategy, and only playing odds when I was working with house money. One of the players next to me asked why I wasnt taking odds normally, and I really only had a vague handwavey answer. This put words to some of the things I kinda felt instinctually. Thanks!!
Perhaps as a next match up, one player bets the odds and the other places rhe same amount in place bets. Now see who makes more, lasts longer with 300$
