Place Bets – How to Play Craps Pt. 9
Place bets are simple bets on a number, they are very flexible, and also very popular with craps players.
You can make a place bet on any of the point numbers. The 4,5,6,8,9 or 10, if its rolled before the seven, you win. If the seven appears first you lose. Thats it. No others numbers effect the place bet.
Let me remind you, these are dealer assisted bets. How to make them, is you place your chips in the come area, get the dealers attention and say “place the six” or “place whatever number you want” The dealer will move your chips up to the point boxes and place it on the line, not inside the box like the come bets. If your number rolls before the seven, the dealer will count out the winnings in the come area, then hand it off in front of you.
Place bets do not pay off with true odds. The 4 and 10 pay 9:5. The 5 and 9 pay 7:5, and the 6 and 8 pay 7:6. Notice because the 6 and 8 pay off at 7:6 you must always make your bet in increments of $6. All the other numbers are bet in increments of $5.

If you keep your place bets working on a new come out roll. Do they lose on 7 or on 2,3,12? And if so, can’t you just also bet the pass line and the field to be safe ?
very good instruction !
My local casino has 3-4-5x odds on the pass line. It's my understanding that place bets pay more money than pass line with odds if your odds are less than 5x (total wager payout of place bet vs pass with odds). So if I can't place more than 5x odds, doesn't that mean place bets are a better bang for my buck in the short term?
Let's say I have a pass line bet and a place bet on 6. The point has already been set on 6 and the dice roll another 6. Is that basically a double win? I notice a lot of people dont make place bets on the point and just wondering why
Love your channel, do you have a video on buying the 4 & 10, no idea how that works
These videos help new dealers with the game. Awesome stuff.
my mom was a craps dealer in Atlantic City and she always told me buy the 4 and 10.
place 6, 8 only. house advantage 1.52%. remaining numbers are poor place bets, giving the house too much, over 3%. place $504 on the 8, plz…!!! shaaaaaaaaaaa!
I'm so fricken confused. I watch one vid and the bet and payout is one way with no odds, but different with odds. i.e… 6 & 8 no odds we bet in increments of 6, but with odds the "flat" is table min (not in increments of 6) is paid 1:1 and the odds (still not increments of 6) is paid at 1.5 to one?? I'm too old to go back to math class.
So can you bet 6 dollars on 6 and 8 even if the table minimum is 10 dollars?
