The problem of where your kids spend their time, and what they choose to be good at is a difficult one. I've spent a lot of time thinking about this, and here is what I've concluded. (a) When they're young, if they show interest in improving at something, I nurture that. Learning how to be good at anything is a valuable skill, so investing time in learning how to be good at something is worthwhile. (b) as they age I encourage them to invest their time into something that will help them earn a living, or otherwise improve them as a person. Anything else (like chess) is fine as a hobby, provided they understand that time investment into games like that is strictly about entertainment.
The question you have to ask is what fills the void if they aren't doing Chess? XBox? TV?
You don't want to push your kids too much, there are plenty of instances of child prodigies burning out and hating their parents for it. There are a lot worse things than chess to get excited about. Just support his choices, he'll prolly get bored of it eventually when he hits his ceiling.
Just play Magic: The Gathering for fun, and you'll learn life lessons applicable in some capacity for every aspect of your life.
I love that solver. Often times in life you need to chart out the stats to get the real picture of how things work. Using intuition means you're likely using incorrectly formulated ideas. It's fun to learn things you would normally assume were wrong. It definitely seals up leaks.
Like u say, it's the base education anyone needs. U don't need to play GTO but certainly understand it.
Would it be illegal to use this solver in an online game?
I am a USCF Chess Expert, game is not worth the time, but a good thing for kids to some degree. I am UFOCLUB on lichess
Always a pleasure,Hope for a valentine special
So many points…another re-watch
What about when you're better at the Poker part but the dealer keeps screwing you over and over and over every weekend that you're playing… How many times am I gonna get all in with a better Ace and lose is my mantra every weekend. And honestly it makes sense for unlicensed offshore gaming companies to alter their RNG to reward bad players, not allowing good players to realize their equity… Keeps them both coming back
