Learn Poker Video Source & Info:

Celebrating my 20th year of playing poker, I was invited to the USC Poker Club to share some lessons I’ve learned along my journey. The members were awesome, passionate, and driven to learn more about the game.

Stick around to the end, as we got to share the felt together too!

  1. Proof that there is a real life Thinking Side of Poker… Much more than memorizing range charts. Thanks Alec!

  2. Been listening wondering what the is the point of him talking to a university class . Trying to convince kids to drop out lol😮

  3. Fantastic stuff. And thanks for the pointer about Randy Pausch and the "Last Lecture" … hadn't heard about that and checking it out now.

  4. Hey guys finish your BS and take a Masters Degree and you're ahead of the pact.

  5. I was raised by miserly people. Poker definitely helped me to appreciate the value of quantifying and taking risks. Now I enjoy life a lot more because I'm not such a life nit.

  6. Is this the guy that got caught angling on live TV and then bragging about it 5-6 years back?

  7. You’re such an OG Alec. This is so cool. When’s the TED talk and book tour coming ☺️
Also love hearing your stories from Macau

  8. Hey Alec I was one of the students part of the Trojan Poker Club. thank you so much for coming out and talking to us this was a great video!

  9. Great stuff Alec. The key part of this I took from it is this: you have to measure risk v reward AND both long and short term benefits. Poker is an excellent teacher of this. I agree with one thing you said. I phrase it like this: The day I think I have poker mastered is the same day I get left in the dust. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't try to learn something new or improve on what I do well or fix a weakness.
    Thanks Alec

  10. Perfect timing sharing this as I just got back from a game where I went on monkey tilt and lost back a good portion of my profit for the month. I know what I need to do tomorrow before the game and during, but this is great reinforcement and motivation. You mention losing a cool million and here I am kicking myself for lighting a couple buy ins on fire in one session 😂. Back to the lab in the morning and ready to crush it on the felt after.
