Do Poker Players Need to Learn GTO?

  1. Explain how gto is effective at high stakes in layman’s term s , simply explain it , Einstein was once quoted and rightfully so as saying u don’t anything unless u can explain it simply , so explain why gto is necessary at playing poker in the high stakes , what’s the difference , do u realize everyone plays good poker these days and explaining to you simply that there really isn’t much difference between online 1 2 and 10 20 , the only difference is nerve and bankroll , see that’s simply explaining things

  2. I played 1 2 had aces the flop was qj10.. I bet like 45 on flop they raised to 170 .. I jammed to 400 they called with kq and turned the 9.. I thought for sure they had a set or i had them and in was great shape … then a guy raised to 10 I called with j 10 s.. flop was j 10 4 rainbow he bet I raised all in and he called 200 more with qq which I expected and the turn was a 4.. if I won them 2 hands I would've been up 800 instead lost 700 ..in about an hour and a half.. bad makes me wanna lay down the best hand sometimes when it's like 60 40 ..

  3. If you played perfect GTO at the lower stakes, you would probably never win. Two recent hands I remember, I had the nut flush blocker, with no other flushes making logical sense from the UTG player, I call and he had 6/2s for the flush. The other, I raised to 3 BBs, and got called by the button. Flopped top pair with backdoor straight and flush draws. End up allin on the flop and dude has 8/5o for 2 pair. No matter what GTO says, it doesn't account for lucky donkey plays.

  4. I just keep betting until I make a hand and then stack people

I don't even really care about what cards I play

    Works every time

  5. Bro been watching your videos and honestly my winnings in the micros have really gone up! I only play $.1/$.2 but huge difference!

From what I’ve noticed you need a whole lot of discipline and learning player types and labelling the villains what type they are is a big help and it’s made me make the right calls a lot more!

Also for any newbies out there bear this in mind, opponents player types can change during the games they may start Nitty and end up loosening up and noticing this can be the difference between a bad beat or a clutch decision.

Nathan a question, I’d say I’m an ok poker player, I understand hand strengths, bet sizing, position, playing tight, ranges, player types and how to exploit different types of players, the mental side of poker and how to handle emotions and to try and not tilt; Is there anything you’d suggest to improve upon or focus on to progress to the next level up from just an average player? Will move up higher soon just enjoying crushing the micros😂

    Keep the videos coming mate🤝

  6. How is medium-high stakes defined? I play tournaments as high as $2500.

In my opinion, at lower levels, an exploitative strategy is clearly more profitable than straight GTO.

  7. GTO is worth knowing as a baseline. Exploitative play should be based on GTO + some deviation based on your opponent's leaks
