I'm always amazed how the subject of LUCK is not deeply discussed in these types of conversations. The pros LIE, when they tell us : EVERYONE HAS THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF POKER LUCK, IN THE LONG RUN " . Some people are NATURALLY lucky in life and in POKER. Ive seen it home games for many years. Players who make the wrong plays at the right times and continually hit 1-3 outers that bust their opponents stack and punish proper play. I have 1 local friend that plays in our pot limit games , who hits more quads and straight flushes in 1 month, then I hit in 2 years. Of course skill is important, but luck is the uncontrollable factor that can make a good player constantly lose and a weak player constantly win. I have no idea why some players are blessed with this luck .
I recently found your youtube channel. Your videos are outstanding. Your advice is as authentic as it comes. I wish I had more poker buddies like you in my area. Your humility and the lack of cut and paste tactics in your videos are refreshing. I watched your video where you gave the guy who was on a downswing but was relying on poker to improve his financial situation. I was surprised to hear you tell him to take a break from poker, but that was the right call. If I had watched that video a few years ago, I would have saved myself alot of money. I'm glad I didn't take it a couple of weeks ago though because I was on serious losing streak, but I broke it one night and got back in the green this year for the first time. I've started with a $3-500 bankroll before and climbed back up rapidly. Luckily, I don't have a family to take care of because my wife would have left me. lol.
Does he mean with 5/10 or higher $5/$10 or 5c/10c?
Okay got it at the end of the video^^
lol yea, you gotta have a physiological deformed body to play in the NBA. Love to watch and admire the players, but a lot of people don't know how rare it is to even be eligible to play in the NBA.
Love the channel Alec! Thank for the input and great info!
I have a riddle. Who wins the most at the poker table?
Nancy – 10 years experience
Bob – Has been playing 20 years
Stewart – Is a millionaire
Peter – Has read 6 books on poker
Linda – Won a 1000 player tournaments
Jeff – Studies poker 5-10 hours a week, has 6 years experience, has a certain win/loss amount per session and excellent BRM .
Who has been the biggest winner over the past 4 months regarding all these qualities.
"This sums up poker btw".
Great video as always. I got a question, so when you get to the certain level (top pro) which have a lot of good (best) players in the game. How do you pick the game that you want to play? Or what's your condition of choosing the game that's suitable for you? Thank you.
Good vlog. — You forgot too mention the semi-pro [but maybe you did and I missed it]….The people that like the security of a job and also like the competition in a poker game. I know more than a few people like this..Some like home games and others like the casino atmosphere. I prefer the latter myself..
When you say study poker what exactly do you mean?
why get charts when you could read championship tournament practice hands by tj cloutier and tom mcevoy
Nice pits! Lol great video though!
