And they say that poker is tough now… this hand show there's a lot of fish out there
what about a min raise with KsJx – can you ever min raise fold?? Probably not; Me personally, I probably just call but don't hate the all in; can't be outplayed on later streets!
Watching this hand makes me want to play live poker again; have not played since 3-7
No he doesnt deserve any applause. He called with king jack.
Wait….
You (correctly) trash the in position call by KJ-off then a few moments later, you say it is "perfectly fine" for the BB to call with KQ off. Sure, he almost closes the action (only a limper remains) but he is out of position AND KQ off is barely better than KJ off. Surely the price is better, but he is still calling 13 and a large number of callers is very bad for a hand like KQ offsuit in general. Unless he flops 2 pair or better, KQ off will ALWAYS be uncomfortable and will not know if he should be betting, calling or folding. This seems like a super marginal spot with tons of downstream problems. The actual pot odds would probably justify an all in call, but this hand is a reverse implied odds nightmare. Just fold that cheese.
Good stuff as always Jonathan! Your videos have inspired me a ton on my channel. I truly appreciate the work you do!
Limping in middle position wiht 99s, short stacked is fine, when a player in position value rasies your in a good spot to jam picking up all the dead money for you coin toss equaity. I play a big 1-3 full time this year & would say 99s in middle postion with a short stack is the perfect spot to ad traps into your range. TRAP with that to pick up the dead money on your flip IF YOU EVEN GET CALLED. I dislike trapping with any pairs becuase of the set value, but I would never be short stacked at a table ever either…
What do you do if you play people who keep going all in before the flop? When do we go all in? Or should we always fold
Cleanup in aisle 5. We've got a giant spew over here
Nice push by Clinton for getting Jaimie out the pot, could have won it all on the turn. Anything less than an all-in Jaimie is definitely calling in that spot
