Poker Strategy Info And Source:
This Hand of the Day episode is coming from my reader Paul from Norway. He would like to know something more about his cash game poker strategy with pocket aces. What would you do in his shoes? Would you fold pocket aces in this spot? What would be your poker strategy?
Feel free to share your thoughts in a comment below.
Cheers,
Alec

I feel like if i had the A diamond i would check turn
I would bet pot on the turn, no free cards, take the pot anytime.
That hand was simply a "perfect storm". There's very little that could, or should have been done differently…especially after the second diamond hits the Turn. People get frustrated when Aces lose, but it's a psychological hurdle that good players learn to clear.
Alec I really disagree with the check on the turn and your analysis on it, precisely because Paul does not have a blocker. If he had an Ace of diamons a check would make more sense since it reduces the chances of a diamond on the river and also reduces chances of opponent having two diamonds so you're ok with giving him a free card. Having no blocker means there's a higher chance that your opponent has picked up a back-door draw and your're now giving him a free river. If your opponent has two diamonds and you want to charge him for the river especially if you don't have a blocker.
stop making videos man
Pretty obv it was ace queen of diamonds… wtf find a fold
Clear river check to me. Likely AQd that Iβm not paying off. Or A6. I love thin value on river, but semi wet board like this, nah. (Sure enough AQd, jeez! Writing this comment before the hand was revealed)
it is simple on the turn – villain has 1/4 chance to hit flush, pot size bet (or bigger) makes 1/3 odds – not a good break even percentage and should fold. On the river it is check and against all in rather fold.
I called Ad Qd before he showed the river. Pretty easy to read villians hand there.
Also when the turn hits No way AdQd – top pr flush draw folds . No way
