  1. Argument of play a hand with BB by limping does not hold. You had three other players behind you. Top pair is too good of a hand to min raise the turn. You want them to bet the river. Beat by AK is a bummer but still don't like the play. Second time you have called ICM module – it is model. On the second bet 2/3 your stack on the river is like silly.

  2. In small buy in tournaments and small cash games, a raise from the blind is usually extremely strong. therefore he is beating almost 0 hands after 2 bets flop and turn. the min raise is actually the best play of the hand eventhough it was done for incorrect logic. when he checks the river, you can only hope he has AA or JJ. a check is better but a small bet is OK. once again, this is why you raise K10 Preflop. if he reraises signicantly from the BB , you can fold or release after a c bet.

  3. Love Alec's amazing analysis but I can't believe he did stupid bet on the river! I do admire his courage to show his hand though.

  4. Great vid Alec! I love the idea of doing live hand of the day analysis. Can't wait for the next one. Btw, where can I submit my hands for "hand of the day"?

  5. Lol… This is your "elite" group. You asked why he limped rather then raise for an additional chance to win the pot outright… And he responds, "yea, uh, that's a good point, I never really thought of that". He then reasons that he limped because the teeth clenching internet kid was new and he wanted more info on him before raising. And that's when I stopped watching

  6. Generally speaking, limping has some inherent justification whenever we are in position with cards that tend to coordinate with flops–such as broadway cards.

  7. First hand: This is why, open limping is not a good idea. Hero open, Villain 3-bet AK, Hero has an easy fold with KT off. Its not, that the main purpose of betting is "for information", but in this particular spot it would have been a positive side effect.

Second hand: Basically just a cooler but dont play scared poker, just because its a tournament, and you are near the money. Get the chips in on the turn, and if he have you beat or get there on the river, it just is, what it is.

The best tournament players dont cash more often than others, but when they cash, they cash bigger. And they achieve this by playing more aggressive near the bubble not less.
