Aha moment – find an open size that is diificut for your opponents to 3-bet – so much for the standard 2.5x everyone else has recommended for years. And it is more then likely the player calling your bigger opens is the worst player – how awesome is that!
Which is the link to previous videos in this series that you talked about Evan? Thanks for the great contentđ
I think this is a very good finish on a series… tying things together: light on new information, but discusses situations you have to solve using last lessons! My opening is too little even in theory. I told myself perhaps open something like 2,8x… but i know ingame i most likely open 2,65x there. On flop i understood the concept of betting big, but i would've bet about 90% pot instead of 100-125%.
Mindsets and logic is what this lesson gives you.
Takeaways:
1 Keep the betting lead!
2 Late position raises of 3.1-3.5x are effective against the BB when followed up with an overbet and make a TON.
at 15:30 when he says that this bet need to work 53% isnt that wrong? A Pot Size bet needs to work 33%, so this overbet is like ~36%? Please correct me if I am wrong.
Great work man. Highly enjoyed your original point of view on what could otherwise be very dry content..
How would you apply this principle to low stake cash games? How often are over betting the pot in position on a bluff?
Major sports (the ones you can bet on) are all rigged…I wouldnât trust any analogies based on the scripted circuses to keep us distracted
Cleveland broke the record for longest winning streak a couple years ago. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/roundtable-do-the-indians-already-have-the-longest-winning-streak-in-mlb-history/
In low-mid stakes tournaments that are abounding with super passive fish, it seems that people are almost NEVER playing back without a really good hand. Is it still necessary to make such a big C-bet in these kinds of games when itâs unlikely anyone would ever play back at a small C-bet?
