This is a tough one…because if "we" played it "correctly" we lose the max on blank turns. Maybe this isn't such a bad play vs. straightforward 1/3 players who would rarely play anything but the nuts as a 3bet on the flop…? can't really make up my mind…are we supposed fold on the turn 2 of hearts?
I dont even like calling the 3-bet. If the original raiser comes over the top, we are loveed and have to fold. And even if he get out of the way, how are we ever going to make money against the 3-better? If he bet again on any other card than a non club ace, we are still playing the guessing game and could easily be drawing near dead against AT or dead against a turned flush.
So by calling we are essentially hoping, that the raiser will fold, that the 3-better is semibluffing, that she will not get there, and that she will check back both turn and river. I think, its way to ambitious, so I would just let go of my 30 $ investment and look for a better spot to put my 1.400 $ stack at risk.
I dont think, we are ever looking at two pair from the 3-better or just some random bluff. So even when she is semibluffing, we are most likely up against the nut flushdraw, which has 11 outs. And we also need to worry about the raiser, who could easily have AT as well. I wrote it before and will write it again here: "Never go broke in a limped pot". I am glad, Hero at least found the fold button facing the 5-bet. But I think, he found it a little bit to late.
If your strategy here is bet fold to shove just seems odd. Plus given the board you are going to fold to half the deck on the turn to any club or A-10. Just one of those hands that seems strong but in the face of 3 bet then 4 bet shrinks dramaticly assuming as you stated the other two players were very competent. Just let it go and live to fight another day.
Bart getting dementia. He did NOT have a club ♣️ 😂
Caller you wasted a lot of money unnecessarily. Calling the flop and folding on turn is fine. She might check the turn and the river mighf give a 4 card flush board. At that point you might be able to make a move.
You’re lucky she showed!
So after hero shows the 2nd nuts to the table how should he adjust his play on future hands?
you have the -ss end of a strait in a limped pot, check the flop, it goes bet raise, you can call flop (or fold) and check turn. You have a deep stack that you don't want to burn it out of position in a limped pot where someone easily could have you beat or have a big combo draw to the nuts. Relax, it's one hand in a session, no big deal folding at any point in the hand with this holding/flop/action.
i'm folding flop there, mainly because the initial raiser still could re-pop if you just call. raising that smallish size is crazy because you keep in so many hands that can draw out out on you (there would be 22! potentially bad cards to worry about, and more that could bring a chop..). either raise all-in or just fold, i'd say.
