  1. This hand illustrates a principle I apply to 2/5 and below. If there is an ace on the board or a board pair and a player puts in big bets, he always has it.

Now the tricky caveats. First exception is drunk players. These players are responding to internal stimuli, not the board or the actions. Second issue to consider is that bad players may be thinking they have it when they don’t. This is the case in this hand. The villain thinks A8 is basically the nuts here. He might also think AK is practically unbeatable.

Only very rarely will you face a big multi street bluff by a thinking player at these levels. A c bet, yes. But a big naked bluff or “turn A-10 into a bluff” just doesn’t happen very often.

  2. Omg. This caller is full of crap, lol. Keep up the great content, Bart.

  3. i'd be a little concerned about 66 or 88, as the called says, "to sweeten the pot a little"

  4. AP after preflop, I like Vs line. I’d be a bit worried about Hero having 86, but V blocks the 8 so not entirely worrisome. I fold as Hero too on river. Nice hand !

  5. Isnt this the guy who got tried bluffing into quads after being raised on the flop?

  6. Sometimes people open raise smaller with small pocket pairs, my first thought when he reraised to $500 was pocket 6's.

  7. It shows that the villain isn't a great player and/ or was just more aggro. When 2 players have identical hands & one guy forces the other guy to fold, guess what? The Villain was the better player here. Whether it's aggro or blind foolishness by not understanding ranges or what have you, villain pokered the hero. Anyone can win hands flopping flushes, boats or straights but it's these middling hands that determine who is actually good at poker. Good stuff…. Thanks, Bart.

  8. check raising the turn looks way stronger than donk lead. I like the lead on the turn.
