As a rule, Nathan is correct, don't limp . If it's good enough to open, it's good enough to raise. I sometimes use limping as a deceptive play against overly agressive opponents. Not often, but it does have a place. Limp->3bet? Yes! If you have a strong hand and are reasonably sure your limp will draw a squeeze from the agressive player it's a move that puts them in a bad spot. This will sometimes open an opportunity later to see a cheap flop with a marginal hand too. But… honestly, just raise first in, it's a better play 99.99% of the time.
Not that old chestnut again the old 8 deuce haha
good refresher for heads up – not 3 or more way pots
As a beginner I watched this like ‘don’t limp against the c fish, always bet against a flat handed fish flip. But never against a c card double ace pair flop, as that makes it harder to be aggressive against the table squabble’
– that’s my advice.
Playing home games with my friends, I gotta pussy-foot with raises and play semi-trash hands for the first hour. After that, everyone had a few beers amd they loosen up… I tighten up.
They continue to assume I am playing trash (like them😂) and will call bigger raises… and never seem to notice the change in strategy.
8:36 was the moment I knew that I was the fish… this is humbling
I can't open the cheat sheet :/
