A great example of how one mistakes compounds another in poker
Your preflop raise is way to big. In early position 5x would be good in a 1/2 game. I have also found it advantageous to limp here, see what happens after you and then decide if a 3 bet will take down the pot or give you command on the flop. I know a lot of players here will disagree with that strategy, but I find it works great on a loose raising preflop table. I really don't understand the call on the river unless you have a read your opponent is bluffing. The board is paired and there is a flush and our opponent probably puts us on AK AQ KQ etc. Sometimes you just have to let Top top go. Also I sense you really just want to take pots down with no action, you need to adjust this mindset.
Playing 1/2$ blinds in a live casino, you're raises will never be respected. The way to beat the game is to play super tight, then really aggressively with big hands because nobody was paying attention to the fact that you folded your previous 30 hands. You will get screwed sometimes by someone out drawing your hand, but in the long run it's hard to lose.
Also, I really don't get you're comment that you didn't want callers. In 1/2$ live games, you're almost always ahead with that big slick.
With that said though, you can't call the river bet. He had so many random suited hands in his range that turned into a flush on 4th Street. I really don't see any hands you could beat at showdown that he would bet all in with.
"That's poker" Lol
check back turn, you're not gonna get 3 streets of value with AK on this board (what i mean is if villain has a Q he will probably fold ott fearing another bet on the river, but if he's sticky he could call otr), fold river 99% of the time
wow! the pre video advertisement was of Whole Foods and their natural bacon! That should offend vegetarians , vegans, Muslims, Jews & animal lovers!
so bad you didn't even help him
"That's poker"…. C-betting is fine, bet on the turn is fine, the call on the river is a No-No. What can you beat here?
Sometimes I hate AK
