  1. Fantastic insight about the fundamental importance of accurate classification of hands and how it is situation dependent!

  2. Pete and Repete were sitting on a log. Pete fell off. Who is left.

Seriously, Im listening to this again. Thanks Johnathan.

  3. I play perfect situationally because I’m a wealthy rec/fish 😇 The last $500 tourney played, I was on a heater in the early stages and ran my stack up by about 3-4 starting stacks. Only level 3 or 4 and it folded over to me in the HJ pre so I open ripped with 72 off figuring I could pick up the blinds and antes, as the players left behind would only be willing to call with big pocket pairs. Instead, it folds to the BB who calls off their stack with AJ suited. Flop comes 10 9 8 rainbow. Turn bricks us both. River is a J giving the AJ suited top pair but it gave me the J high straight. I’m so skilled and good for a fish 🥹

  4. Is anyone else going through a stretch like me where any time you get dealt real hole cards, it’s just a set up for you to lose a big pot with the second best hand 100% of the time, so the only hands you can win with is when you gamble with trash? It seems like for the past couple years now, every time I get AK, I’m up against AA, KK, or the smaller pocket pair easily holds in the flip, or the worse hand bad out. Every time I get KQ I’m up against AK or AQ and if I make 2 pair they hit broadway, if I make top pair I’m outkicked, etc. Never flop sets with my small-middle pocket pairs and I’m always outflopped with them. And when I’m actually dealt a hand like pocket QQ, I’m up against KK or AA, and if I’m dealt KK, I’m up against AA. I’ve been running like this so consistently for so long now that whenever I’m dealt a good playable hand, I feel like I should just fold because it’s just another set up. Even my smaller-middling suited connectors completely brick flops, and when I finally pick up a high equity draw with them, I just brick the turn and river every time. It seems like lately, I just have to play like I hate money in order to win. When I play junkier cards now I seem to make nutted hands at an exponentially higher frequency than I do with real cards. Not sure if anyone else has experienced a stretch like this other than me…

  5. To teach your kids to ride get them stride bikes. They will quickly learn to balance on a gliding two wheeler and then its an easy transition to a pedal driven bike.
