The truth is, you might not even be able to table select if you are playing live poker in a casino!
Plenty of casinos run games on a must-move system with the possibility of seat changes on the table while you’re currently playing.
‘Proper’ poker strategy might dictate that you find that softest game in the room every time you sit down but there are other factors to consider.
If you plan on playing poker for a long period of time playing in tougher games will help build up your poker skills for years to come.
Remember to consider what your goals are while playing poker, if you are really focused on making the most money on any single day you might be missing the opportunity to prepare yourself for tougher games at higher stakes.
If you’re building huge chip stacks already but still looking for how to improve at Pot Limit Omaha, No Limit Hold ‘em, or big bet poker in general, Phil Galfond is here to teach you how to think like a professional poker player.
Are you a new poker player or a poker beginner? Do you just need the best Texas Hold’em poker strategy and best Pot Limit Omaha poker tips, or do you have a high stakes poker related question you’d like a poker professional’s advice on?
Leave a comment and your question might end up in the next one of Phil’s quick poker tips videos!

Depends on where you're at in your gameplay aswell.
If you feel you don't have so much more to learn table select as hell.
Even in games where you can change tables, you might not actually be able to do it, the casino will usually only allow you to change from a fuller table to an emptier one, and it might not work out.
But you can always game select if there are multiple stakes available. Maybe the 10-25 game is full of sharks and the 2-5 game is full of nits, so you play 5-10 that day. The casino will probably try to steer you into the emptiest stakes, but you can always choose the stakes you want to play.
And depending on where you are playing, you might also be able to game select by going to a different casino.
Hi Phil. What are the fundamentals of building and managing bankroll playing cash games and moving up from 1/2 to bigger games? Thank you
