  1. Paul, in your opinion, will the new rolex dual tone bracelets stretch as much as the older ones over the years? I like dual tones but I'd hate to have to change the bracelets every 5 years or so due to bad stretch.

  2. Love these videos, mate. I'm genuinely interested to know why you recommend not to buy a watch with a small chip in the edge of the sapphire. Is it really that detrimental to the value of the overall piece? I'm asking because I have a Rolex with exactly that issue – totally invisible to the naked eye and you can only tell if you run your fingernail really carefully around the crystal. Not a big deal to me, but should it be?

  3. I’ve worked my way through most of your wonderful videos, thank you! However, I don’t believe I’ve once heard you say the phrase “sound as a pound”. Do rectify, please.

  4. Best watches to buy are: Rolex Daytona and Submariner, Omega Speedmaster and Seamaster, Patek Philippe Perpetual Chronograph but only 5970 or if you have more money 2499 and 3970, AP Royal Oak (all of them but especially 15202 and 15300) and JLC Reverso, I would even add some Grand Seikos to the list. If you buy this you cannot go wrong. Please forget about Nautilus and Aquanaut with Patek, they cannot hold a candle to the Royal Oak, Patek is only perpetual calendars and some chronographs, and that's it.

  5. Point 19; if there is a bigger hit/dent or whatever, it can be fixed by laser welding. So it is not a broken neck if there is something and the price will be corrected.

  6. I got a call from an AD to say that a GMT (batman) I ordered a few months ago was now available. I cant collect till after the new year, so I paid a deposit over the telephone. I then got another call today saying that Rolex prices were going up 7.5% on January 1st. Putting around £500 on the price of the watch. I paid the balance after the deposit so that I "only" pay the current price. This may push up 2nd hand prices slightly. Maybe already common knowledge but I thought I'd mention the pending price increase anyway.

  7. What a kick-ass summery of all the factors one should consider when buying any kind of watch, new or pre-owned, and with all the details necessary to have a great experience. Very well done, sir! Love your videos, keep em coming!
