Real Madrid travelled to Saudi Arabia to play Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup.

Luk De Jong and Ansu Fati scored for Barcelona and game went to extra time but Fede Valverde scored the third and handed Real Madrid the victory. Real Madrid now will play in the final of the Spanish Super Cup and would like to return to Madrid with a trophy in hand.

A win against Barca will never grow old. Yes our performance was bad but if them at their best cannot beat us at our worst shows how many levels of quality we are higher than them.

Analysis :
Firstly, like I have said in previous comments, Asensio's clinicality infront of goal is highly questioned at this stage for a player of his caliber. We easily could have killed the game 3-0 in the first half only if he has put the ball in the back of the net after tremendous counter attacking effort by his teammates. He really needs to be more focused and hit the ball with more purpose.
Secondly, regardless of Modric's age, I really feel we should give him what is needed. I know it could have been a cautionary measure for a man his age but on nights like that, Kroos should have been substituted instead of him. Not trying to demean Kroos' ability, but his main ability is to calm the play down whereas at that point in the match we needed more agility and dynamicity. Modric could easily have filled in the LM and the bursting energy of Valverde to complement
Also, like I said in the previous comment, Camavinga has a lot to do. I mean, he had 2 chances that could have counted for us but his decision making his somewhat lacking and always wastes time with extra touches, he has a lot to learn.
I really don't know what happened to Rodrigo, he is a clinical finisher and never expected him to miss that. Let's hope it's a one time thing, I really hope it's not his confidence in question here
Militao needs to wake up, he has started building a legacy to be untouchable in the defense, he shouldn't mess it up.
All players were spectacular and a joy to watch, I really enjoyed the match. Brilliant performance from Benzema and Vini, I never seem to be bored of thier pair, outstanding.
Special mention to PINTO, he's a true madridista. Always there in the goal celebrations, true dedication and commitment to the team, I also appreciate what he has done to the physical therapy of the team, far less injury has been recorded since his return, A LEGEND
