From the West Coast and into your eardrums, we have partnered with @SeratoHQ bring you sounds from DJ Khalil.
At an early age, the Seattle-born and LA-raised crate-digger became a staff producer under the legendary Dr. Dre before paving out an illustrious career that led to several Billboard 100 listings and collaborations with some of the most influential figures in #HipHop, such as 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Ferg, Remy Ma, Big Boi, Nas, Cypress Hill, Jay-Z, and The Clipse (to name a few). It is safe to say that Khalil is no newcomer to the game.
Now, let us take you on a journey to Amoeba Music, where we get busy the #RhythmRoulette way. Records include music by James Reese, The Delfonics, and The Coupe De Villes. Watch how #DJKhalil uses Serato Studio’s new Stems feature to seamlessly isolate samples to create a soulful new beat.
“The technology makes you feel like you are starting it all over again. You’re discovering a new approach to being creative.”

A super great episode courtesy of DJ Khalil. Learned alot. I need to get that Serato Stems now🔥🔥It's a game changer for producers and DJs.
The untrained eye thinks that its easy to make these beats. I just make beats for fun and I know how f-cking difficult it is. Salute to DJ Khalil.💯
and…That's how it's done!! Salute!
This might be the best one! He followed the directions 100% even with it being the luck of the draw he used all 3 selections because he has a musical foundation and an ear for music. I think all the OGs are dangerous on here. They focus on the groove more than trying to find a hit and end up making a hit. It's inspiring as a producer to see that. Beat makers just know everything is music, all sounds are an instrument that you can incorporate into your own style/genre. Arrangements, levels, panning are your friends if something you feel doesn't need to take the lead they can be your back up singers or ad-libs.
the stems is the holy grail; hope this tech makes it way onto mpc 3.0
