We’ll explore the different types of bets on the roulette table layout: from red/black bets to odd/even, as well as more complex corner, six line and straight up bets.
Roulette bets can be split into two categories: inside bets and outside bets.
Inside bets
Inside bets can be found in the center of the roulette table’s layout. This type of bet is placed on an individual number or a specific combination of numbers.
If you place single number bet, also called straight up, it means that you win only when this number comes up. This bet pays 35 to 1.
You can also place a double number bet, called split. You win, if one of the two numbers come up. For example, we have a bet on split 17 and 20, so 17 is a winning number and we win. Split bet pays 17 to1.
Three number bet is called a street and it means if one of three numbers win, your payout will be 11 to 1.
Corner bet
Corner bet is made up of four numbers. Corner bet pays 8 to1. Also, you can place a 6 number bet called sixline. If one of 6 numbers win, your bet pays 5 to 1.
Outside bets
Outside bets are broader wagers that cover an entire category of numbers. The most well-known are classic bets like red or black and odd or even.
Outside bets are great for beginners because they give a wider coverage of the table. They also give a higher chance of winning, but with a lower payout.
Even money chances are red or black, high or low, and odd or even. All the even chances bet payouts are 1 to 1.
The numbers on roulette table are also divided into dozens. The first dozen covers numbers from 1 to 12, the second dozen covers from 13 to 24, and the third dozen covers from 25 to 36. The winning dozen bet pays 2 to 1.
Roulette table is split into three columns – this bet covers an entire column. The winning column pays out 2 to 1.
But if a 0 comes, all chance bets are lost.
