Episode Description
A crazy new project has been proposed for the Historic Westside of Las #Vegas. At 670 feet tall the proposed Harlem Nights hotel, casino and residences would be 60 stories taller than zoning allows and cost $700 million. With just 2 acres of land could this project ever really be built and would it even be viable?
In other #news we look at some of the most prevalent casino carpet myths and discuss the evolution of casino carpets. We also discuss how to get in line for U2 Sphere tickets, where casinos make their biggest profits and how they account for comps, #Strat finally beginning to charge for parking and the historic Huntridge Theater sign is lit up once again.

If you went to LV in the late 90s and early 2ks you are pretty disappointed in LV now. And everything else for that matter lol
I miss the clunk of coins falling into the trays on slot machines.
when talking about gauging outcomes on the roulette wheel u have to mention the location and configuration of the numbers…. its not structured evenly the the numbers layout on the wheel…. the dozens + columns are different configurations …. they are not grouped the same…. from one vs the other…. and knowing THAT… can help towards a players advantage…… let the house have its extra zeros…which is a joke, they just need better compitent dealers that understand better the concepts of inconsistent spins….. BUT…. casino floor people are uneducated stupid guys and have no knowledge or common sense perspectives to understand. .. this like they did in the real days of gambling… the ..50's.. 60's.. 70's…… and early 80's…
it just takes a dealer that knows how to do the spins..!!… PERIOD….
FYI, The state assembly is going on in Carson City and attempts to make a NV state lottery (and join Super Lotto) are running into casino-side interests. (AKA obstructions). Go figure.
Nobody is parking at strat to walk to the arts district. Even those of us that can, there are closer and cheaper, even if you're not friends w a local business owner
Harlem Nights sounds like some kind of investment scam.
Any chance that all he wanted was a 10 story building and he put in this proposal just so they would approve what he really wanted afterwards cuz it would seem so much less ridiculous?
When I worked in auditing in the early 2000’s at a Strip casino, the percentage of high end restaurant comps was usually on the lower end, maybe 10% of total sales. The poker players used to get $15 – $25 comp vouchers, which they usually used at the Buffet or the quick serve food outlet by the Sports Book. Used to be the biggest restaurant bills were for conventioneers that would write the cost off on their business expense reports, with a lot of money spent on booze 🍸.
