HOWDY, Internet! This is Dominic with the American Casino Guide. This tutorial explains the things you need to know about five-card draw poker.
It used to be played by cowboys, outlaws, miners and all sorts of people back in the day. Wild Bill Hickock, the legendary western outlaw, was famously shot dead while playing this game. It was also played on riverboats in New Orleans and on the Mississippi River.
The main difference between Five Card Draw and say, Texas Hold’Em, is that there’s no community pool of cards. You only use the five cards given to you in your hand.
Five Card Draw is easy to learn and super fun. No wonder it was the most popular poker game for so long!
The betting rounds are practically the same as in Texas Hold ‘Em.
