  1. Alec, first hand of a Venetian deepstack we got AA in the bb. ACES the very 1st hand we play on our Vegas trip! 30k starting stack if I remember correctly (mAybe 25k). EP raises, sb flats, and now we put in a big squeeze to 1500. Initial raiser folded but the small blind calls again so we go to the f!ok heads up in position with the nukes. Flop KQ8 rainbow. He check JAMS, ALL-IN FOR 300BBS THE 1ST HAND. What do you do? No reads on the guy but he was an older Texan type gentlemen (like Doyle or Clouteir type profiles). Not sure what we even beat here or what he could be bluffing with..? You can prob guess what I did but I'll wait for your answer first before revealing.

    Thanks,
    Kia

  2. Forget fact 777 was ahead, the poor bet sizing allowed QT to get there so bad play was rewarded saving money as bigger bet QT folds and AA loses more to 777

  3. Hey Alec–if you had 77s and your gut told you that you were beat would you fold 77s too? tks.

  4. Love the fold , I play at my best when I fold good hands to likely straights or flushes , or weak flushes and straights cards , knowing there is likely a higher flush or straight.
And then recently I have gone through a couple of down swings and it is simply because I stopped following this instict , thinking no love it I recon you are bluffing it to save your loss , the money you have put in the pot , no I was wrong ,It is not worth these big losses to your stack trying to win , when you can just fold and be so much better off.
An interesting video as I can fully relate to it in my current game play.
And yeah Silverman played that set way to passively

  5. Silverman shows how to flop a set, and somehow manage to lose a big pot…!!!..It was artistic..!!!

  6. This is why I say " aces never win". When you have aces you only have a pair. The chance of their turning another ace or improving on your hand is at question. Most people stay in with high cards. If another ace arrived then players assume that you might have an ace in your hand and will play accordingly. If you say, had a none face pair such as the 7's and one is flopped then the tendency is to disregard the card as a weak one. In a game where you have 10 players it is likely that at the end of the hand someone will beat just one pair. Best to bet big on the flop hoping to take down the hand.
