Texas Holdem Strategy Video Source & Information:
If you want to win a poker tournament, you need to increase risk. You want to remain patient and pick your spots early in order to chip-up so you have enough chips to make the money.
Once “In The Money”, you can’t hesitate with premium hands or good spots to move opponents off hands. When you’re aiming for 1st place, you need to raise with hands like A5o and JTs and not fear a re-raise.
This isn’t how you should play if you’re trying to move up the pay ladder. If that’s your goal, you should fold more often.
But if your goal is to “Ship It”, then you need to take chances and let the cards fall where they fall. If it’s meant to be, it will be.
